with my period. I'll give you as much detail as I can. Please don't judge me or think of me as nasty. I just don't want to be in public, and have an accident. I know we dont' want to go through it. What girl wants to have her period at all? anyway, let's go back three months. Let me say this. I have always had an irregular period. I never could detect when it would come on. In August, my period lasted 8 days. In September, I had no period at all. This month, my period has lasted today would be 7 days. I've been on birth control since the beginning of this year. I called Nurselink and told them my problem and they told me to call a pharmacist. I called Walgreens and they said the last week, the white pills are sugar pills and whether you skip them or not, you will have a period. I just wanted to know what could be going on. Why is my period so irregular now? I skipped the white pills for the last 2 months and I thought I would be okay but now I'm really scared.

If you skip the pills, and go directly to the next pack, you should not be having a period. If you are just taking nothing, you should be having a period. If you have been going to the next pack, then you might be having breakthrough bleeding. There are so many reasons for irregular periods, To determine your cause, you might have to go to a doctor.

I used to have very irregular periods when I was younger and I found that 2 things remedied the situation for me; age and finding the right birth control.

During ages of a lot of stress like early teens, first children, maybe later on, your body reacts in strange ways. This could be a factor. Worrying is probably no helping in this case.

The other was switching from the pill to the patch. I tried two different kinds of the pill which were hard for me to take everyday, never mind exactly on schedule, so what works for me is the patch. I put a new one on Monday morning, then forget about it. I can shower, go swimming and everything, and I think it`s great. i can ever predict within like 12 hours when my period will both start and stop now!

Maybe this isn`t the right product for you, but maybe there`s something better than what you`re on. You should see a doctor or a women`s clinic to talk about your options.

Good luck!

Ok let's not panic - it's never a good idea to mess around with birth control pills and this is exactly the kind of problems that stem from it. Go back to the Dr and start over. And follow the instructions to the letter. Nothing really bad can happen to you but watch out because you can get pregnant so use protection till you get your period back on track.

You should get more regular as you continue the pills. Try and relax! Your mind can affect these things too . The last week of pills (white or whatever) are definitely just sugar pills to remind you of the habit of taking a pill everyday. I always used to just not take them, that is fine. Make sure you take your pills at the same time everyday. You should get regular. Maybe you need a new type of BC pill. You might want to try that. Eat healthy too. Good luck!
