my friend will find a song and listen to it and we will think she is so weird and then two weeks later its popular. How does she find these songs??

it's easy just research artists you don't know much about, explore new genres that interest you, find music like this, and start from there.

it most likely hadnt gotten maintstream to where you live. Like some of the rap/r&b from down south might be played every once in awhile up here and then a few weeks later be big.

You should ask her....otherwise, do your research. iTunes, eMusic, record stores (CD stores...whatever), alternative radio stations...
