In personal opinion, the government needs to emphasize on fixing the problems in America before focusing on the world's problems. We have millions of children in America that can't afford to go to the doctors, social security is on the verge of paying out more than it gets in, and our Congress and the White House is filled with scandal. However, since the Monroe Doctrine and the Roosevelt Corollary, the United States has positioned itself as an international police force looking out for all of mankind. The problems that we are facing in Iraq are simple. We are engaging in the difficult task of liberating an entire country from a lifestyle they have practiced for a long time. It is a dreadful task, but it can be done. Start at home and fix our problems, then try and tackle the world.

well the first step would be to withdraw all the troops everywhere in the world.

ok then we need to recognize what we can do to contribute to the health of our country and environment - cause we just may still have leadership status and could effect a positive change in the world thru positive life affirming values.

of course acknowledging the fact that we have sold arms to all that have contributed to terrorism and acknowledging that we are the biggest terrorists would go a very long way to deter terrorism - so there is a lot we can do to stop terrorism.

oh yea ad start locking up the people in this country that have sold and produced arms to sell to countries that use them against their people and us. charge them with TREASON

I think we should pay our dues to the UN, back the UN, and try to get the UN more capable in handling things like that. Being the one big dog in the world is NOT a good thing. It makes the other dogs nervous.
