that all depends if you made your wishes known when you got married
as not all people who marry want kids, they may love kids, love playing with other kids, even baby sitting them, they just do not want the cost or the burden ( yes they are a 18 year burden ) and value their economic and social freedom that comes with no children
and that's fine
some people ( usually women ) go on the assumption that kids will be coming soon after marriage
and they oddly enough never discuss that with their husbands
then they cry foul ball when it turns out the husband does not want any
in cases like this there is no gray area, man who has been married long enough is not going to suddenly change his mind, he is set in his ways
you have to divorce
and find someone who wants kids

Marriages tend to last longer without children.
Many can not handle the additional responsibilites of having children and maintaining a relationship at the same time. Relationships are optional. You can't just dump the kids to make the relationship work, and the spouses almost always blame the other when the relationship goes down the drain, children or not.
Many do not see the situation as a whole, only see their side.

I didn't have kids with my spouse and we've been happily married for 13 years. We both made that decision, because I may have had problems when I was pregnant and it could have affected the baby. Well, life is still excellent, because I have alot of nieces and nephews.
They can only have children when both of them want children, otherwise it will eventually cause problems in the marriage. Good Luck

with kids marriage is hard. you really have to work at it...if you didn't have kid it would be totally different. it would be like you were dating again. you would have time with each other do what you want..don't use the kids as a way out. you could of used protection.you just have to wait till the day it's back you and her. it's could grow up and be an adult. love the kids love the wife....

Having children is a personal choice, and also something to be discussed BEFORE we say "I do".... why would a person go into marriage without discussing the future?

NO. I love my husband (of nearly 12 years) and would NEVER want to live without him. :) He's the most wonderful, loving man you could ever meet.

i was infertile with my last husband who was 20 years older so that didn't help us stay together.it just made it easier to leave without the obligations of kids.
