why is it that whenever i ask a question or answer it says -2 points or -5 points and i look at my points and its getting lower and lower?? its been like this for a week already!! maybe even longer!! how come!?!!!

answering gains you points as does selection of a Best Answer. Asking questions on the other hand costs you points. Look at it this way,it is the only thing that the points are good for. You can't buy a cake, or pay your electric bill or even take them to your grave.
I have suggested, and of course with no response from Y!A, that since we are paying the bills by making this an attractive site for advertisers because we are here, that perhaps they should come up with a program to sell logo'ed things, like caps or t shirts or pencils, just something we could spend our points on. On the other side it would also make the site more attractive to more users and also make the site more valuable to advertisers.
That was more than an answer to your question, but in a way it fits.

Asking a question is -5 points. After you ask your question do you go back & pick best answer? If you don't you should because you will get back 3 of the five points you lost.

Should be -5 to ask, +2 to answer. Are you asking more than you answer? If not, then there is a problem with your account, send a note to customer service and MAYBE someone will look into it.
Please note..Yahoo has been having problems with their server lately, while updating at the same time. Go figure.

the way yahoo keeps points is that for asking a question you get minus five points but for answering a question you should get positive two points

Every time you ASK a question you Loose 5 points.
Each asked question reduces your point count.
Each question you answer gives you 2 points.
Each question that you answer that gets chosen as Best answer gives you 10 points.
If your answer is choosen for best answer you will recieve an e-mail telling you. with a whoohoo in it!

mmmm, well when u ask a question u deduct 5 points and when u answer a question u add 2 points. maybe ur askin more than answerin

you are supposed to get negative five points for asking a question and positive two points for answering a question.
