More specifically, can I switch from 103T to 103S without damaging the car? This is for a Acura MDX 2003. Manufacturers website lists 103T. Today is Sunday and I can't call them. Hence the question to y'all!

This is the "service description" of the tire. The 103 is the load index which says how much wieght the tire can carry at specific pressures. The "S" and the "T" are the speed rating of the tire, which indicates the maximum sustained speed the tire has been tested to. The higher the speed rating the more bits and pieces are used in the construction of the tire which effects how the tire handles, stops and otherwise grips the road, so it is not a simple matter of "I don't drive 118 mph so I don't need T-rated tires" like so many folks think. Your vehicles brakes and suspension are designed to peform at their best when a tire with a service description of 103T is installed. Installing a tire rated at 103S would be a downgrade.

Will it damage the car? No. It just may not drive exactly like Acura designed it to drive and how it drives is after all the reason you bought the vehicle.
