I'm a senior, my unweighted GPA is 3.75, my weighted GPA is 4.75, I'm taking 2 APs (AP English Literature and Composition and AP Biology) and 4 Honors classes (Pre-Calculus Honors, AP bio lab research 1 critical thinking Local Honors, American Government/Economics Honors, and Physics 1 Honors). However, when I took the SATs for the first time in June this year (2007), I scored horribly: verbal = 420 , math = 470, writing = 420 / essay = Lv. 3. My counselor said my scores do not match my GPA at all. What can I do? When I answer the SAT questions of the day I answer the verbal questions wrong most of the time and the writing question wrong all the time. How can this be? I do not seem to improve at all. It doesn't make sense to me. I need help fast otherwise what good can my GPA do if I score poorly on the SATs and end up not going to college because of that? Help me! 1.) How can I improve? 2.) Is the ACT easier than the SATs?

gpa are first important thing to college , second was your sat , since your sat score are that low that below average sat test taker also your senior is too late to study sat, just keep up with your school work , AP , volunteer, recommended letter, and honor class. from my view is very true that your gpa does not match with your gpa. usually with that high gpa you should get very high on sat, but however , the college don't care at all that your sat score and gpa does not match . , but i am sure you will going to college since you have high gpa , however your sat are too low so you definitley won't have chance to go to ivy league.and act are better for you since act cover most of school work with that gpa you must be study hard on past , so i recommened you take the act test and compare to your sat score which one is highest , then decided to study which , since you don't have much time , becaused your senior just take two or more on sat and act and hope you end with good score , and college only choose best sat and act score and send to college .

Pick up a study book for the SAT. Practice the questions. Be prepared to work hard and fast during the test. Get a tutor. Take the test again and do better.

It will depend on what you wish to have it for. Presumably you are asking, on the grounds that you wish to have this understanding for buying into institution. Whether your ranking is well or no longer is determined by the precise institution wherein you've got an curiosity. Colleges most commonly post the normal ratings of scholars who've been admitted to the university or who attend the university. So it can be satisfactory to verify those ratings of colleges which might be of curiosity to you.
