Because there is no atmosphere in space to trap light. Also, there is a reason why you can't see astronots' faces while on space walks. If they had just plain clear viewing plates and looked at the sun it would sear their retnas.

Not quite sure I understand the question...but night would be the absence of sunlight. Night is basically the earth's shadow . Stars are light years away and provide inadequate light to make our night turn to day.

You'd have to define "day".

And what do you call "so many stars"? These stars are billions of miles apart, and very little light is getting to each and every place in space.

Because light needs a medium to reflect off of, otherwise there is nothing to illuminate the darkness. It's like shining a flashlight into nothing but a black abyss. What good does it do when there's nothing to illuminate?

Space is empty , not really empty, but there is not enough stuff like planets and atmospheres to reflect the sun and light things up.
