The Mayan calender ends in December of 2012. The Mayans believed that their world would end then, or come to some type of catastrophe.

I don't think I've ever seen this answer to your question before, so I'm going to give it a try.
The Mayans took a rock of a specific size. They began divinition and carving. One day they ran out of space to carve anymore...so they stopped.

Maybe,but i don't know if anyone really knows when the world is going to end,i just think it all might be speculation.it probably will be a surprize when it happens.
