I really like the name Fiona, but I would recommend just pronouncing it fee-OH-nah, so that years of teachers and friends won't pronounce her name wrong on first sight. (Fiona means 'vine', by the way.)
For Girls:
Colleen
Erin
Cassidy
Kennedy
Ciara
Aileen
Shannon
Sierra
For boys:
Connor
Ryan
Cody
Aidan
Liam

I like Fia (pronounced fee-ah)
How about Sibeal (Irish for Isabel and pronounced Shi-bale)
I also like Saidhbh (pronounced Sive(like five or hive))
there are loads. Fiona is nice but not really popular in Ireland anymore as it was big in 60's and 70's. We are going back to really old irish names here some of which are really beautiful

Saoirse pronounced Seersha is beautiful for a girl. fiona is pretty cool and there's not too many of them. I work in a school and there is only 1 fiona. also nice when its inevitably shortened to fee

Hi,
I not overly keen on the name Fiona, I just feel it is a little old-fashioned nowadays especially for a baby girl.
The other variant I could find for the name Fiona is Fiora.
Other Irish baby names for girls I can think of are
Aine - pronounced AWN ye/ AWN ya)
Aofie - pronounced EE fa
Cara - pronounced KAR ah
Enya - pronounced EN yah
Kasey - pronounced KAY see
Kerri - pronounced KEH ree
Liadan - pronounced LEE dan
Good luck!
Lx

Fiona is okay. Definitley not one of my favorites, though.
For a girl, my favorite Irish names are Aoibheann, Shea, Brigid, Sinead, Aoibhell and Aine. For a boy, Aodhan, Finn, Liam, Conan, Seamus and Malachi.

Fiona is lovely, though I'm not sure where you're getting the "owner" ending sound. Likely a typo (LOL), but I'm certain most are familiar with the fee-O-na pronunciation (no R, of course). ;)
Some personal favorites are ...
GIRLS
Imogen
Niamh (NEEV)
Maeve (MAYV)
Talulla
Aine (AWN-ya)
Aisling (ASH-ling)
Clodagh (CLO-da)
Mairenn (MAWR-en)
Finola/Fionnuala
Nola/Nuala (the latter is said more like NOO-la)
Nora
BOYS
Cillian
Ronan
Angus
Hugh
Declan
Dillon
Desmond
Oran
Finn/Fionn
Finnian
I included pronunciations for some, but if you're really interested in Irish names, you might like this link: http://www.babynamesofireland.com/index.html Extensive lists with great background information and audible pronunciations, if you need them. ;)

I think Fiona is a lovely name!! I've always liked it! I don't know many Irish names, but I had a flatmate called Bronagh. It was a weird name for me, but it is nice.

Aiofe I think it a bit of an odd name as it reminds me of my friend that was always called egg (as in e for egg!). I like Fiona and there aren't many of them around now, I only know one child Fiona the rest are adults.
I like Niamh.

Maeve (May-v, like a nickname for Mavis, but I HATE Mavis. Maeve is my neighbors name)
Fiona
Boys:
trent (My neighbor, Maeve's twin brother, So cute together!)
Liam (my FAV FAV FAV name!)
i love fiona. [which, btw, is pronounced Fee-oh-na, for those people who didn't know]. it is so cute, and you could call her fee or Fi as a nickname, which is adorable. I love irish names!
