I know it takes long...how long though?
Can I be a pharmacist while training to be a surgeon?

it takes forever.. my sister's husband is a neurosurgeon. He is 33 and he hasn't finished yet . Although by 33 i think you will already be done ... Its a 7 year residency

4 years in college
4 years in medical school
neurosurgery residency (dont know exactly, but 7 yrs may be about right as your other poster noted)
you absolutely will not be able to work as a pharmacist while training. as a matter of fact, you will not be working AT ALL during med school. residency is a job so you will be getting paid then anyway.

It takes a minimum of 6 years to become a pharmacist. States have rules not allowing doctors who have a pharmacy degree to have an active pharmacist license. They don't want to overlap prescribing and dispensing. Although, there is a movement to give pharmacists dependent prescribing authority.

4 years of under-grad
4 years of med school
1 year of internship
3 years of residency
then you have to specialize in surgery and do residency for that.
