Alligators make horrible pets, no one should have them as a pet. They can be very dangerous, I'm sure you've heard of a lot of people who have been attacked, even killed, by alligators. Of the many alligators I've worked with, I've seen some that are really mellow and just kinda go with the flow, and others that are highly aggressive. I've been chased by a large bull alligator for no apparent reason, and bitten by a four-foot juvenile who was aggressive at all times. There are some rare instances where alligators seem completely tame, such as Bubba the famous alligator who is always at the big reptile shows, whose owner spent literally thousands of hours working hands-on with him to make him "tame." But you can never really tame any wild animal, there will always be the possibility for them to turn on you, and they don't have to have a "good" reason to do so.

I've owned alligators yes they are dangerous. I wouldn't recomend them to anyone!! They take up a lot of time energy and get very costly to feed . You might want to look into another pet . Also check your local and state laws after all my hard work the person I sold them to gave them to someone unliscenced and they were confinscated by fish and game. You want to take legal trouble....

We went to a small zoo last week, and they had a nice alligator exhibit. Their signs said that ALL their alligators had formerly been pets-- people didn't realize that in ONE YEAR an alligator can grow to be SIX FEET LONG. I don't think I'd do it.

it depends on what kind of house you have.
if you have a mansion with enough space to make a pond and a steel fence around the i guess not but if u live in an apartment then i guess it would be dangerous.
