They are almost the same thing. I looked them both up at dictionary.com and was going to give you the answers there but I found that they are pretty much the same thing. But here they any way:
Multinational:

International:

4. having members or activities in several nations: (an international organization.)
5. transcending national boundaries or viewpoints: (an international benefit; an international reputation.)

Multinational means, involving many nations, international means, across national boundaries, so at least two countries.

Multinational is a mixture of all different people from many
different countries, and international can mean from a
specific country. e.g: America has population from all
different places of origin on the map, and if you speak
to one of them say from "Indonesia" for instance! then! you
had an international conversation (smile), or transaction.

if any company or resturant have many branches in other country like meckdowlance or cococola is called multinational and if any company have just one branche in all over the world but they export over product tooo other countries is called international.....
