Every confrerence had had its hayday, but everything I read make is soung like if you dont play in the SEC you are not worthy of being ranked. I understat that they have some great teams right now, but what about 5 years ago? What about 5 years from now? Every conf has their doormats, it just happens that the doormats are playing well in the SEC. LSU, florida unbeatable please, ask Kentucky and Auburn.

If your conference doormat is playing well, that just tells you the conference is watered down. The rest of the teams in the league are not strong enough to step up and put down that doormat.

the fact that those teams (which really are that good) are losing to other teams in the conference is the reason.. watch some SEC football sometime.. it doesn't matter which game really because you are gauranteed a GREAT game.. you might get a shootout like the Alabama Ole Miss game yesterday or a smashmouth style brawl like the Auburn/Arkansas game.. but what you will rarely see are blowouts.. there are 12 teams that can beat any other team in the league..
these 1 loss national championship teams from the SEC (2003 LSU and 2006 Florida) just go to show how good the 2004 Auburn team really was.. going undefeated in the SEC is about as easy as winning the lottery
I'm not saying other conferences aren't worthy.. I'm just giving a reasoning behind the SEC being the top conference and getting alot of press

Just look at the strength of schedule for the SEC. The team with the "easiest" schedule so far is LSU, ranked at 43 out of 119. That means out of the top 43 toughest schedules, 12 of them are SEC teams. BTW, Ohio St. is 118th. How about 7 teams in the top 25? Remember, there's only 12 in the whole conference. Not too bad. The Big Ten will have 1 this week.

Look at the numbers bro and the number of teams in the top 25. I don't think the Big East or ACC or Big Ten even compares where most of the teams pad their schedules with teams they hope to blow out to pad their stats. When an SEC teams blows out the competition in the BCS, then you'll see why so many people love their conference. It is a big fight every time these teams step onto the field for conference play.

The SEC isn't very good this year, but some blind fans are slow to notice. Actually, the Big-12 and the Pac-10 both have many more good teams this year.

You've got 9 legitimately good teams in that conference right now (everybody but the two Mississippis and Vandy). No other conference is even close to that deep. Big Ten? 1 good team. Big Twelve? 4, maybe 5. Pac Ten? Maybe 6. Big East? 5, maybe 6.

Ky & Auburn are also in the SEC.
It takes an SEC team to beat the an SEC team.
S. Carolina beat Ky
LSU beat Fl.
Ky over LSU
(There are a few exceptions such as Cal whipping up on Tennessee)
You have to admit. SEC as a whole is a LOT better than PAC-10, Big 12, Big 10. when you look top to bottom
