rune factory (harvest moon story) question?

in clemens cave i have only two available paths and they are both blocked by walls of fire. i tried to kill all available monster producers, but the walls of fire remain, and then i tried planting seeds in all available crop spaces and then killing all monster machines yet the walls of fire still remain. i even tried the poison remover on the fire but still nothing happened. i rescued cecilia already, so what am i doing wrong? how do i take down those walls of fire?

Water them.

Take your watering can and use it on the flames. That will put them right out. Make sure you fill your water can before entering though, there is only one source of water in Clemens, and you have to get rid of some fire to reach it.
