I have never been a morning person - and usually wake up angry - or at least emotionally sensitive where just about anything can set me off. Simply hearing someone's voice before I have fully woken up or a door close too hard. It's insane. I just fly off the handle.

Now as I have gotten older I know not to simply snap at someone because I am grumpy, so more often than not I simply stifle the anger - but then it usually makes me touchy and irrational for the rest of the day.

And it's not about my dreams or enough sleep. It really doesn't matter if I have 5 hours or 10 hours of sleep --- though the average is 8.

Ya you are probably right Alex - but that doesn't answer my question, lol

Vasanth - ya, that's what I needed to hear. HA! I do practice yoga and I do calm down. However that was enough to get me going all over again. A wise person doesn't point a finger when offering help - at least if he not unless he expects to not be heard.

I am the same way. I don't usually snap at people, but sometimes it happens anyway. I need about half an hour of being left alone in the morning, then I'm fine and can function. But if I'm getting bugged or nagged or people are arguing, I'm pissy for the rest of the day.

Hi,
If I didn't know any better I would think I had asked the question! I am the exact same way, and it usually takes me a god hlaf hour to an hour to get over the anger. I lie in bed and read or just sit there with my eyes closed relaxing. I am not this way all the time, but some days just the sound of a voice or a cat jumping onto the bed will set me off. It's totally normal. has nothing to do with lack of sleep or bad dreams, it's just my way of waking up. It takes me longer than some people, so don't bug me kinda thing. Let me wake up on my own.

Why Are People Angry When They Wake Up

2017-01-15 04:08:09 · answer #3 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

I know the feeling too well. I am going through the same thing. It becomes worse as i am reaching my mid 30s.

Anyway I am currently taking vitamin B and drinking warm soya milk with honey before bed. It seems to have an effect.

I would also suggest watching or reading something funny/romantic in the evenings.

Do you wear crystals? I hear the are very effective, i have only been using them for a few days so Im not too sure yet.

Good luck.

You can't gauge how you're life is GOING to go on how you feel right NOW. I'm 50 years old now and have had an amazing life! In my youth...if I had cashed in my chips every time I was bored or unhappy (and trust me...I felt like that A LOT) I would have missed out on some VERY cool things....things that I never even experienced in my BEST dreams. Sometimes you just have to relax and let life come to YOU....patience isn't just a virtue...it's a necessity.

We could be twins, if i don't wake up angry i wake up depressed,,, and it's over nothing, I'm with you 100 %,,,,I'm fine after a while but i literally "hate" waking up,,,It must be just the way were wired, I've thought about suing the whole "alarm clock" industry for that is one of the most annoying sounds ive ever heard and God help anyone who wake's me up abrubtly,,,,,,I'm learning to try to think of something that make's me happy and relaxed right when I get up anything to make the transistion easier,,,,this is why I dont nap either,,,good luck and just know your not alone=)

I don't get angry as much as I get depressed, but I am more emotionally sensitive early in the morning and late at night aswell. For some reasons, thoe tend to be my worst times of day.. Maybe because I'm tired.

Some people have different body clocks. While I'm a morning person and wake up ready to go others are at their best at midnight when I'm exhausted and crabby and ready to go to bed. You recognize your needs so make sure that you get peace and solitude in the AM.

sometimes i do. but usually it is because lack of sleep or somehting that may have happened the day before orsomething in ur dreams. at night if something is bugging u u tend to think about it befire u doze off. then ur brain functions at night and u dont realize it but it stores in ur brain. like some ppl study at night before they go to sleepfor a test and the next day remeber everything because ur brain works and processes info at night.
