there is no longer something incorrect, it in basic terms needs resetting. each and every time the oil is changed the gentle must be reset. With the ignition key in RUN yet engine off, totally push and launch the accelerator pedel slowly 3 situations interior 5 seconds If the CHG OIL quickly gentle flashes, the systyem is reseting turn the major to OFF then start up the motorcar. If the CHG OIL quickly gentle comes back on the gadget has no longer reset. Repeat prosedure. that is stright from my 1998 Lumina oweners manuel.

actuall this is one of those things that you really need to hear to diagnois. could be the belt is glazed. could be power steeringcould be the water pump, basically any number of things. try these things first: check all your fluids. with car running in park does it change when you steer side to side? yes? it's power steering.
with car running in park mist the belt with windex. noise may get worse then go away. if this works remember it's just a temp fix. replace the belt. noise is due to glazeing. see the shiny stuff on it? good luck

Lets see now: Remove the belt, start the car, listen,if you don't hear a noise it's belt driven; power steering pump(first guess).
If you hear a noise,it's not a belt driven problem. Air leak?
My second guess is torque converter.
