I am not athiest ,but my best friend is...
i couldnt understand it at first, but he made me understand why;
He never had a reason to beleive in one, he was constantly let down;and hes had experiences to lead him believe there is no god.
He doesnt beleive in religions either, and he kinda just follows and makes up his own rules as he goes.
Hes fine with this way of life, and likes it better then before.
I think overall all atheists have there own reason towards why or why not they beleive in god, but we should just accept it
everyone is aloud to choose there own ways
hope that helped. :] goodluck.

There are different gods. I don't necessarily believe in Jesus Christ but I am a Pastafarian.

^ About the religion.
I could ask you the same, why aren't you a Pastafarian, Islamic, Buddhist, ..etc.
People entitled to have different opinions, maybe your parent put this value in you but if religion isn't an important thing in your family then you might be an atheist.

I have yet to see any proof of existence of a god, if he is so great and loving, why is there a hell? Why are there young children and babies dieing of starvation and diseases? Why are good people along with the bad poor, sick, homeless begging for salvation? There is so much evidence that we evolved into what we are today, maybe not from apes, but from a common ancestor. You ask me where then did we all come from, that everything has to be created.Nothing comes from nothing.Well I guess maybe you are right, but then I ask you where your god comes from and you have no answer except he always has been......not good enough for me.Besides, your god has only come into existence 4000 years ago, there were so many religions and gods before him. They come and go, they are fads and nothing more. When a religion comes along that truly respects all...then I will consider it.My beliefs but I respect yours as well.

Im not an atheist but some people have a hard time believing that there is something more out there...and evolution isnt a totally meaningless theory anyway. Atheists arent completely out of whack with their beliefs. I think as long as they respect people who believe in god, we should respect their views.

Hi soulm8s7.
Personally, I find it very difficult to believe in something that cannot be rationalised or proven to exist. It's kind of pointless, you see. I simply can't accept (now that we have proof) that the bible is anything other than a wonderful tale. As for faith - I am more likely to accept the support of my family and self judgement than trust any instinct towards an intangible deity.

I have never seen any evidence of "gods" existence. If I do, I will start believing.
Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and beliefs and as such, I do respect the views of people who do believe in god.

1) I'm not an atheist, but I'm interested in answering this question...
First of all, myself I believe in God because it actually takes more faith to believe there's a God rather than to believe we are from monkeys... Everything that existed has it's creator, just like a pencil that was created by a person, so is everything in life, SOMEONE must be behind all this, that would be God...
2) I don't judge people that doesn't believe in God, rather I try to encourage them to... Because myself, I felt content knowing that someone is always watching me and actually cares for me, even if I'm not perfect, I want others to experience the same thing too...
3) To those that said they don't believe in God because of their problems in life, think again...
God allowed obstacles in my life when I asked for strength,
God gave me people to love when I asked for love...
4) And, if there is no hell, don't you think people will start doing whatever they can think of? If people seriously don't want to go there, just follow His Word... Love your neighbour more than you love yourself, love God with all your heart...
I think life can only be meaningless if you choose to think it is meaningless, God is not to be blamed... ^_^

Just brought up that way. I would imagine if you went to India they would want to know why you didn't believe in Hindu gods.
