That's a great idea for your family. Although your child is a little young to appreciate more flavorful foods you can start with making his or her favorite on Sunday. Let her help. Perhaps you can make a special dessert every Sunday. We have an international family and thus have a lot of traditional foods that each member is known for specializing in ; ranging from Good ol' American Roast w/ gravy & mashed potatoes to German Rouladen, Arroz con candules, Teriyaki and many more. You can't go wrong with a family favoite. Maybe something that you or your husband used to love eating when you grew up. Since she is 4 you could make Sunday a Pizza day. Make pizza's from scratch letting her help add the toppings etc... I applaud you and don't let anyone who doesn't do this discourage you. I have had my children's friends who come over for our Saturday Breakfasts. This has become a favorite among all of them. They range in ages from 11-17. On that day we prepare everything. Omelettes and or eggs made to order. Bacon, sausage, hash browns, Belguim Waffles, pancakes, French Toast, and every kind of syrup and topping you can imagine, along with gritz, oatmeal , biscuits and gravy etc.... It is a virtual buffet. It is delightful watching these kids. My husband and I enjoy working together and we set the table very formally knowing that we will have a huge clean up job afterward. Bon Appetit!

It's always me. I also specialize in Monday dinner, Tuesday dinner, Wednesday dinner, Thursday dinner, and Friday dinner. I refuse to cook on Saturdays.
Sunday is almost always spaghetti and meatballs with homemade garlic cheese bread. Way more fun to eat it than to cook it.

I'm not cooking a roast today, I am cooking bolagnaise sauce in my slow cooker, and will just cook some spaghetti to serve with it when my hubby and son come home.

It looks like the fish and chip shop today for yours truly. Everybody is on holiday, Sunday service on the buses and the chippy's just up the road.
