You are supposed to use another form of birth control ( like condoms) for the first couple of months. I would contact your doctor and ask what you should do because if you are pregnant, continuing to take the pill is not good for the baby. Best to check it out with a doc,

Yes of course you can be pregnant you dolt. You get a paper with the pill, and your doctor tells you when you start taking them that theyre not fully protecting you until you've been on them for three months. Although they are protecting in the 90th % after the first full cycle. But you dont trust them alone until that third month.
You can even get pregnant WHILE ON BIRTH CONTROL. Its only 93% effect by use. Which means that 7 out of 100 women get pregnant while on birth control, because they arent on the right dose, theyre not taking it every day, or theyre not taking it a the same time every day.
Theres no reason why you shouldnt educate yourself about your body and the things you put in it before acting on it. Babies are NOT hard to avoid.

read the paper that came with the birth control pills Hun, it should tell you on that, I think you should have been using another type of protection within the first week of taking the pill, so yes I believe it is possible for you to get pregnant. Read the paper that came with your pills and call your doctor about it. If this was just last Wednesday then taking a test would be useless, so I wouldn't tell you that, but if its a possibility then you'll be taking one soon lol.. Hope everything goes well and good luck!

It depends on what birthcontrol you are on. The Depo shot, if given on the fifth day of your period, is effective within a day.
Birth control pills are not that effective, so if you are on the pill, patch, or something similiar, there is a possibility that you are pregnant. You need to take the pill for seven full days straight before it is effective in preventing pregnancy.
So, yes, it's possible you are pregnant. However, keep taking the pills (if that is what you are on) until your inactive row, when you are supposed to get your period. Sometimes you do not get a period your first month, however, if you do not get yours, then you may want to get a test done to ensure that you are not pregnant before continuing next month's dose. Good luck

well youre fully protected on regular birth control usually by the 7th day (ive been on 3 different ones and the doctor told me all of them were fully effective after a week but use a condom before then) my husband and I (then he was my boyfriend) did not follow that at all. I would miss pills and we would do it that night...we knew the consequences and we still did...yes not responsible but we knew whatever happened we'd be happy...we never followed the guidelines on it. It made me so sick so I didnt want to take them either. Needless to say being absolutely imature not following the directions for a year we never got pregnant (I was off it for three months before I got pregnant)...im not saying that you arent im just saying that it could be possible you were on it long enough depending on your body. Everyone is different and your body may have been the type to get used to it quickly enough to protect you. There are too many ifs when it comes to birth control that im going to have to tell you to take a test but dont freak totally. usually a few days is enough to be on it. just depends on your body.

I also just started on Birth Control. I was put on Ortho TriCyclen Lo. With this pill, it said that if I started taking the pills within the first 24 hours of my period starting, that I am protected immediately. It probably depends on the pill your on. I would suggest looking up the pill your on on the internet. If you really can't find any info. I would call your local Planned Parenthood. They're really great about giving information without making you feel weird. Good luck to you.

Yes, you could be pregnant. If you had read the little insert that comes with the pills, you would see that it recommends you use a second form of protection for the first month that you are taking it, as it is not effective until after the first month.

It's usually recommended u use another form of contraceptive (condom) for the first 2 weeks of taking the pill.
Generally speaking, women usually ovulate mid term, 10/14 days after having a period, ur chances are probably extremly low, but of course not completly out of the question.

of course you could be pregnant. i am not sure how long it takes to take full effect, but I am thinking at least 1-2 weeks for it to grab hold. you can always get pregnant even when on the pill, especially if you are new to them and the dose has not been adjusted to suit you yet. if you do not want to take a test, not sure why? then see your doc only he can asnwer for sure.
