If Joe Torre would have won the 4 World Series he won in a more spread out fashion and not in those 5 years, Torre would have been praised and his job wouldn't be in question. Your thoughts?

You present a good point here, I think if A-Rod won ONE World Series with the Yankees, people would be focusing MORE on the ALCS than the Yankees.

The only reason that Torre was still with the Yankees through 2007 is because he won those four straight.

toree can't control when the yankees win or lose so that doesn't make sense but even if that did happen that would be a possibility but torre isn't the manager that he used to be years ago so hopefully we'll get another better healthier manager that'll push the yanks to another world series or more

Yeah, and if going 4 for 50 in 14 playoff games was a good thing A-Rod would deserve a raise.

Torre would have been fired during one of those seasons in between when the Yankees didn't win the championship.

I think if Joe Torre would cure cancer and stop terrorism, people in New York would still criticize him and George Steinbrenner would still want to fire him.

He will go down in history as one of the greatest managers ever but there comes a time for change with anyone and that time is now.

Totally agree. It's better to dominate over a long period of time, instead of bunched all together.

(and yes, I am a Red Sox fan, but it is a very good idea)
