My computer's sound is screwy. It works fine until a message comes up saying Generic host process for Win32 has encountered a problem. After that my sound stops working. So I'm forced to restart my computer every hour that I'm on it Does anyone know:
1) Is their any better way to fix this from happening?
2) What is generic host process for win32?

It could be that you need to update your audio drivers from manufactures website.

Generic host services are a way XP trys to minimise the interaction of different drivers. You will see this running in your processes list as svchost and there will be several instance of this process.

1. Windows is corrupted, back up all your personal data and re-install the OS.

hmm do what the above guy said and also go into your sound options on your computer try messing aroudn int ehre and see what can be done
