the bridge on Chappaquiddick Island where Teddy Kennedy was involved in 'that' accident in 1969 ? Was it at the extreme Eastern end of the island where a bridge on Dike Road crosses over a channel to a long slender North/South pointing finger of land ?
I believe that the local residents campaigned to get the bridge closed due to the many sight-seers who came to view the scene. Any further information would be appreciated.

That bridge was torn down a number of years ago... it was really a dangerous bridge because of the way it went up sharply and then down sharply and had no guard rails to speak of.

The bridge was torn down. But, it was memorialized on film. There's a scene in "Jaws 2" where the sheriff is driving his SUV across a bridge in response to the latest shark sighting. That's the bridge.

Teddy covertly paid to have it removed.
