Not normal in the least. Common? Perhaps. Creative? Not at all. LOL
Besides the confusion and obvious lack of creativity -- though I realize many parents think it magically creative they were able to come up with a name nearly identical to the first ... but I digress LOL -- it's really sad that they (hopefully) chose a name they actually loved for the first, and then for some reason feel the rest simply must follow suit.
In other words, they might have simply adored Kyle for their first son. OK. So unfortunately, the second gets next-in-line alphabetically ... Lyle. Far too similar, but at least a real name. Then twins Myle (poor kid doesn't get the S ending because it wouldn't fit the pattern LOL) and Nyle (misspelling of Niall) come along, and you realize you have a serious problem here. ;)
I mean, why does Kyle get a name the parents actually put some thought into and liked above every other name out there, but the rest are just supposed to fit the theme, whether they're names the family would have used prior to Kyle or not? That's just poorly-thought-out and not at all fair to the younger siblings. Poor little -yles! LOL
In short, I find it quite sad that these parents, in essence, choose to throw away the opportunity to actually name their children in favor of any old name that happens to "match" the first. That's just ignorant, to be blunt.

Thats funny. I know some families that have done that as well. My daughters' names are Ashley and Alexis (we call her Lexie, though), and I purposely avoided names that began with an "A" for my son, and the baby on her way because I didn't want all of the names to be so similar. The family down the street from us has 5 boys... Cole, Cody, Carsen, Caleb, Corbin.

Wow you're very blessed to have such super cousins on your life. i think of that it is so super to work out how important they are to you. i in my opinion love Alice Mariella, wow that feels basically like one among those candy hearted little lady. indexed here are some others that are mixed: Annaly - (An-Nah-Ley) Alily - (Ah-Lily) Lanna (Lay-Na) or (l. a.-Nah) Lina (Lynn-Ah) Violet Lilia sounds relatively beautiful too. Lilia has one among those candy sound, yet Liliana is one among those huge honor on your cousin so it relatively is a no longer undemanding determination! they are the two beautiful the two way you pick! I additionally replaced into very on the threshold of my little cousin Michelle. She handed directly to the finished beyond in 2003, she replaced into purely 5 years old. I plan on honoring her as properly as quickly as I certainly have my first daughter. Michelle would be my first daughters center call no count what. you're so fortunate to nonetheless have your little cousins on your life, on no account take that with none attention. Lifes so short. I pass over her a lot, she incredibly is an Angel now.

or Anna- Kirsta &Elsa
Lara and Megan & Kalla
Or Cassidy & Cody
all similar but not confusing

Everyone does their own thing. I have granddaughters all named with the same first letter....nothing crazy about it...but if it is too close, the probably get called the wrong name all the time.

I KNOW!
Siblings and especially twins have to share so much already.
I used to hate it when (and this happened alot) when i was referred to as "Ben's Sister". What would have been worse is if my name was Jen. C'mon guys, give the kiddies their own names, they are their own people and w/ matching names, its hard to be treated as such.

ha ha. I do not know why people do this. Very strange. The names you describe actually look like variations of the same name. Bizarre.
Though my mum has three sisters, Anna-Maria, Rosa-Maria and Hilda.. I guess they figured they couldn't have four girls named something-Maria

My fiance's mom named him and his brother Derek and Eric. I think that they feel when they are young it'll be cute, but remember we as parents age, and having such similar names makes it really easy to mix them up, and the kids don't much appreciate it. Kids, even as newborns are individuals and should be treated as such, even with simple things like a name.
So in essense, I agree with you.

Although it is a bit of a cliche, I think similar names is cute. I have identical twin brothers and their names are Benedict and Benjamin.
