Hi Third P.
I know you mean humankind, not men vs, women. :-)
I think humankind has the highest intelligence because God first made us in His image and then gave us dominion over the other creatures in the world (Genesis 1:26).
That does not mean we don't make mistakes, because we do, sometimes huge ones. But with our intelligence, we continue to work on things all the time. Scientists have eradicated some illnesses from the face of the earth, i.e., smallpox, polio, etc. There are many others, too where we have made great strides, i.e., cancer, heart disease, etc. Of course, there are still many illnesses that have developed that will still take much work. But humans do not give up.
Humans are very adaptable. We adapt to new situations every day, some which are big. We may have lost our home to a hurricane or tornado, but we survive & adapt. We have great strength & stamina.
God knew this when He created us. This is why He put us in charge of all the creatures on earth.
Also, we ate from the Tree of Knowledge, knowing good from bad, just as God & Jesus do (Genesis 3:22). That is another reason why we are so intelligent; although we gained that intelligence wrongly.
But intelligent we are; or I should say that we have the capacity to be intelligent. Not each person makes full use of those gifts of intelligence. Some people choose to remain ignorant; but we have free will also.
Some people use their intelligence to make great contributions to the world. Others, who are very intelligent, invent things that they later regret, i.e., the atomic bomb.
However, the bottom line is that humankind has the highest intelligence because God allowed it to be so.
Peace.

Neanderthal guy, a non relative got here close and our ancestors in all danger bumped them off. Your presumption is that intelligence is a "objective" of evolution and that's the place you misapprehend the belief of evolution. people who arise with that disingenuous argument of if we more advantageous from a simian creature or a "monkey" why are there nevertheless monkeys, fail to be conscious that residing house cats, lions, pumas, sabre the tooth cats, ocelots, and so on have a uncomplicated ancestor and different than for the sabre the tooth, are nevertheless around because of the fact they fill an ecological area of interest and are tailored for their ecosystem, for this reason are powerful and more advantageous passing their genes to make greater cats, pumas, and so on. Idiots. comparable with people. We share a uncomplicated ancestor, see zebras on animal planet, holiday horses, (who share a uncomplicated ancestor). To presume the human kind is the basically ideal end results of evolution (like Island of Dr Moreau) is misguided. regardless of fits the ecosystem and complements the percentages of survival to bypass those genes is plenty useful. bacteria do nice with out brains as do spiders, squids, and so on. this is barely human conceitedness that presumes we are the basically ideal consequence of evolution or introduction. If there became right into a real smart dressmaker, "he" might desire to do greater useful. Ask all and sundry with lower back problems. Dolphins and whales are very smart however have far to circulate to examine human intelligence, although there is not any longer likely an benefit to further mind of their ecosystem. They do nicely at what they do although their ecosystem is challenged by potential of people over fishing and polluting the oceans. A predator which could stand up to our sewage and can stay off much less foodstuff has the ease there, lesser intelligence although.

Humankind defines intelligence and their definition is anthropocentric or human-centred. So, of course, from the perspective of human beings we are the most intelligent. However, other animals have particular kinds of intelligences that we don't have. If we don't know what it is like to have those other intelligences, then it is difficult to recognize their value. Ultimately, it is arbitrary and biased to compare the various kinds of intelligences and say that ours are more important than other kinds that we don't have.
By the way, if you mean to say humankind, then you should in fact say humankind. It is androcentric or man-centred (it is a man's world?) to refer to the human race in the masculine 'man' when you could instead say it more clearly. Androcentric language is primitive and should be avoided in our times which, although still very primitive, are supposed to be more gender neutral; gender neutrality in our thinking and expressive communication can best be demonstrated by the use of objective language and not gender biased terms.

A word of advice, you will not go far in philosophy when you state a false premise.
Xavier K contributed more than just clarifying humankind. "Egocentric," indeed. Humans haven't even the intelligence to recognize it in other living entities.
Bravo--we can design--constructive AND destructive. Our brains are more developed? What genius proposed this ill-informed hypothesis?
jbaudlet stated clearly, the fallacy of your premise.
I would also hate to blame God for creating us in his image, as we humans are (in general) a sorry lot of greedy, hateful & violent people.
Our "dominion" over the other creatures of the world has certainly been humanely expressed by their distinction at our hands.
Again, What fools "some" mortals be."
Edit: In defense of Third P, "intelligence" should perceive that English isn't his first language.

I don't know if this is true. What evidence do we have of this, or is it just man's ego that says so. I think for example that dog's are much smarter than human beings. Have you ever seen dog's working twelve hours a day, and look at the life that some of them lead?

Sweet man, you have opened yourself up here! I have know brilliant women in my time, equal if not beyond any mans intellect. Through the ages, men were thought superior because women were not permitted to be educated, only the royals of the time. Today, women are shoulder to shoulder to men . . . . . I will leave it at that. I could give you a list of contributing women who have definitely made a mark in our success as a nation, as a world and we would be remiss to excuse their importance.
Misunderstood your question. Now you are in my good graces once again! Thank you for your explanation! You are a gentleman.

I think you mean human kind? In contrast to other animals?
In our egocentric way we THINK we have to highest intelligence because we can reason so well. We are able to use tools and manipulate the environment to construct things and transmit complex thoughts and ideas using various tools. I am NOT sure whether we are the highest intelligence or not. There might be others that are more intelligent than us. If there are aliens then I am almost sure they are much more intelligent.
Thanks for your Q

Man clearly affects the world more than any other entity in evidence, from making things, to changing things, to creating destruction OR construction. This is related to intelligence (go figure!)

Hmm.. due to evolution i guess. Many things that have happened so that the human race evolved to get to a higher level as compared to animals. Actually some animals do have high intelligence. its just that we cannot understand them enough.

Excuse me?I don`t think so,humans have a very difficult time, most of the time making a wise choice or listening to their gut instinct or else they wouldn`t make so many bad decisions!Take a look around and see what a mess this world is in! Need I say more.I don`t mean to sound so negative, but I don`t know how else to feel about the way things are.Animals know more about their basic instincts than people do.
