Is a ECS motherboard bad??
I heard it easily heats up real fast???

No, they are not. However, they are not among the 'quality' boards. If you are on a budget, and do not plan to overclock - but want a decent low cost machine - you will be fine.

Should have worked like a charm. Thats a cheapo $15 PSU in that case and ECS makes cheapo boards. Had you used an Asus board and Corsair PSU you wouldn't be having any probs. You could hook a quality 1000watt PSU to a quality micro-ATX board and it would work fine. What makes you think the PSU fried the board? Some of those ECS Micro boards, especially the $35 one, get some pretty nasty reviews from people who bought them from Newegg. Seem to have major quality and compatibility issues. Did you read the reviews before you bought the board?

I haven't built a computer in 7-8 years (sorry, switched to a Mac), but in my PC building days I always stayed away from them based on reviews I'd read at the time. I personally had a love affair with Epox boards.

They generally make decent quality products, but without a specific model number, your question is hard to answer.

no not really you can buy a faster fan or check with the computer shop
