In other words this guy spilled oil on the engine and it's dripping off. Nothing you can do about that but clean the engine. Just make sure your oil level isn't dropping.

Lots of cars have engine casting ridges or parts directly underneath the oil filter that collect spilled oil. Chances are if the level is ok this is whats going on. Better shops will spray the excess oil off with a cleaner and mop it with a rag to prevent comebacks for false leaks. Cant get it all though. Have it checked if it doesnt stop, could be a bad oil filter or drain plug gasket too.

I bet the idiot stripped the threads on the oil plug and it will not seal properly. The oil is supposed to go down into the oil pan, thats where it stays when it is not circulating. What a line of bull that was he told you. I would go back and yell and make him fix it to stop it dripping immediately and also to pay for cleaning up your driveway. What a moron.

those engineers have a boatload of e book studying and no functional journey. The oil itself does not ruin down however the ingredients do and between the jobs of oil is to hold jointly the contaminants from combustion and condensation and save it in suspension so it does not abrade or corrode the metals that would ideally be rubbing against one yet another. It was that we replaced oil each and every 2000 miles yet oil is getting greater advantageous each and all the time. ok, it relatively isn't any longer the oil it is getting greater advantageous however the ingredients. we are making use of the comparable oil now as then, yet with greater advantageous ingredients. That blended with greater advantageous metallurgy skill that we are able to pass further between oil transformations now. 3000 to 5000 miles reckoning on the form of provider you're submitting your vehicle to. and alter the clear out. don't be cheep in this one. changing your oil is cheep while in comparison with changing your engine, or procuring a sparkling automobile.

This can result in serious (expensive) engine damage, because the technician may have left the old oil filter gasket on the engine when he put the new oil filter on. You could lose all your engine oil abruptly and ruin your engine. Take it to the car dealer and have it checked immediately. Once the dealer fixes the true problem, submit the bill to the first repair shop and go to small claims court if faulty work was the cause.

It's probably the drain plug. You might need an oversize drain plug installed. The threads strip from being over tightened too often. It happens a lot. They also have a rubber drain plug for this problem. Sometimes it is only the drain plug washer.

You do realize that oil is flammable right.

You could catch your car on fire by driving around with it being soaked in oil.

Then what?????
Bet you try to sue him for a new car huh?

Well why not make him fix the problem.
My shop would never let you drive a car like that.
Cover all electronics with plastic baggies.
powerwash the engine well -
top and bottom.

Make sure it is not leaking from the filter - or drain plug.

There is a rubber gasket on both

I would take it back soon it could be oil plug leaking or it could be oil residue but you can not take a chance of running it out of oil

He did something wrong. Either he stripped the drain plug or did not tighten the plug or filter. I had the same thing happen to me at these quick change places. No more. I take it to the dealer from now on.
