or hear on the news?

If your open minded and have any humanity, decency or compassion in you ,you're in for a lot of grief. If you swallow all that you read or hear and state the press as fact you get a big following of supporters who agree with you.

So with this in mind

Do you believe all that you read in the press or hear on the news?

Nope. Never.
And I'll tell you why. I am not a big conspiracy fan but I do believe that "misinformation to the public" has occured in a few incidents.
#1) President Kennedy's assissination
#2) Area 51 and what goes on there (watch the Discovery channel on aliens, it is mind blowing -IF IT IS TRUE. I am still in deliberations on that one)
#3) There's been a whole lot about 9/11 that I think has been held back. For years I did not believe all the conspiracy theories. Although I did. patiently, listen to people who spoke of them, watched documentaries, etc. Recently I saw some proof that the owner of the buildings made a HUGE finanacial gain, had ties to foreign governments and that building 7 was imploded, on his orders. The documentary had proof that he bought the buildings for 15 million and received 700 million from the insurance company after he took them to court to make them pay DOUBLE because TWO planes hit the buildings. (He won his case)

However, I will be looking for proof of their proof before I make any conclusions.

No, I don't believe them. Most news on TV now is just sensationalism and entertainment. From personal experience I know that the news isn't accurate.
Newspeople just repeat myths and rumors, also.
You have to be a well rounded reader .... read all the news from different sources to try to find the truth.

Do you? R U treating people like idiots.
Of course we dont, some of what we read is true, some isnt - people can read between the lines as well or do you think its only you that can distinguish whats true and what isnt. Its the same with people some tell the truth, some lie their backside off.
Get a grip!

Never! I like to do some wider reading around topics, it is encouraged in my workplace (criminal justice setting) and also I am a mature student so I need to read around and get a balance on everything or I'd fail all my papers.

I never buy a paper and get all my news online...and I don't believe any of what I read...even if occasionally it's somewhere near the truth the whole story has usually been embellished to make it more colourful.

Nope I don't. The media has a habit of producing publicity stunts to draw more attention towards them so no I don't believe in everything they say. I prefer facts. §

I don't believe anything I read in the rags, I wait for facts confirmed by people who are actually in possession of everything, and know what they are talking about.

No, but then when the press is the only link, you have to form you own opinions from what you read.
