Hey I was thinking about getting 2 cumberland turtles, and it was all going well until I read somewhere that they grow to the size of a dinner plate, and that the tank you need is so big that it cant go upstairs. I was just wondering, is this true? And also can you give me anymore info on them please? Thanks xx

The rule of thumb for housing water turtles is about 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle. Cumberlands, like Red-ears, can easily hit 10+ inches, so need over 100 gallons of water for just ONE turtle.

In fact, with the bigger water turtles, we often recommend that they be housed in a large outdoor pond.
