Where were you when the answer to this question was decided?
Of course, the EGG came first--eggs as a delivery mechanism was common to dinosaurs and reptiles before birds evolved, and birds evolved from those reptilian creatures.
So, one day, a reptile almost-bird hatched an egg with that final mutation in it that became the first bird. Hence, the egg came FIRST, and then the bird!
Imagine that?

It's one of the most confusing things. I wonder how many times this has been asked. I think everything "evolved" . Birds and reptiles both lay eggs. Did a chicken evolve from a reptile ?Then there's the question, which came first ? the reptile, or the egg ? It's just too big for our brain. Something SO simple !

According to Aristotle, actuality takes precedence over (comes first before) potentiality. Eggs become birds, birds do not become eggs (they lay eggs, they don’t become eggs). Therefore an egg is a bird in potentiality, but a bird is a bird in actuality. Therefore the bird came first.

You'll notice two chains of thought on the age old question. People of faith have no dilemma , The bird came first. People of science and those without faith are either still confused or hold to a theory.
I once read in an old science on a library shelf, that if a man traveled over 50 miles an our, his heart would stop and he would die. Of course at the time of the books publication, no one had ever traveled that fast. That is theory. Theory if frequently wrong. New people new theories until a theory is proved.
In short , only you can decide. please let me know what you think!
