Hi Wisdom.

We benefit much from moderation.

If we live with excesses, we can make ourselves sick. We also lose the ability to live a virtuous life. We become slaves to vice, for example the Seven Deadly Sins. All of these are sins of excess — pride, envy, gluttony, greed, wrath (anger), lust, sloth (laziness).

Moderation is a virtue in itself. It often requires hard work to remain moderate in all areas. It requires much work, much meditation/prayer to keep ourselves in moderation and not give way to excess.

We also benefit by having peace. When we reach a level of moderation, we have reached an even level, one that keeps us peaceful.

We are also able to think much more clearly when we live in moderation. We do not lean too far in one direction or the other. We are able to see both sides of each situation.

Moderation is a virtue that helps us find inner peace. It is a well-balanced way of living. Life is more orderly that way.

We also do not necessarily need to gain anything from it; we just need to know that it is one of the virtues to srive for. There are many virtues, as you, yourself know. Moderation is just one of them. They are all important. However, I can see how moderation is a good place to start.

If we do not give in to excess of any kind, we are less likely to go against many other virtues. Moderation is very important. Thank you.

Peace.

Better health when you are moderate. Nothing is done in excess. Enjoying simple pleasures in a moderate lifestyle does wonders for your heart. We have learned to acquire so many things that at the end of the day are pretty useless and the more you have, the more you have to maintain.

I believe that a moderate lifestyle is better for your well being and the amount of real joy you get in life. Life is not about "things".

Would you like to live under an extremist whose views and practices don't agree with yours?

Moderation means that nobody gets it their way completely, yet everyone can find a compromise somewhere that that they can live with.

When you have a complex society with every conceivable type of person (totally uneducated to very highly educated, different sexual orientations, different races, different backgrounds, different jobs, etc.), then being moderate allows some flexibility for these people to live together without too many problems. If you go extremely liberal, you'll have people abuse the system, if you go extremely conservative, you'll have a revolt eventually.

Being moderate helps a person pacify things. He brought to keep things within reasonable limits. Being a moderator in meetings and conferences is one of my roles in my job. It is a big role and task for me to put the meeting and business into order. Not to be partisan is my objective. To see to it that the discussion runs smoothly focusing on their ideas and opinions regulated within the bounds of the subject matter at hand. These are the benefits of having things done moderately.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

One does not become a moderate for benifits. it is a temerment, or it is a virtue of 'temperence'. One is neither too happy on getting things, nor too sad on loosing them. he middle path is a balance path, between two extremes, and a matured one. Life is full of such balances and balancings, isnt it?
