usually if the seal is broken then the unit is not air tight anymore and could of been open for a while, this will affect the use of the product as it wouldn't be as fresh as the product with an intact seal, usually whilst shopping check all seals are not broken

that means if the seal is broken before you buy it. the seals on products today are a result of some seriously crazy people back in the 80's that were tampering with products and poisoning them and some consummers got seriously sick and some died as a result. tylenol was one over the counter medication that was totally pulled from every shelf in America by the manufactuer theirselves to ensure public safety. they retooled and started putting the safety seals on to protect the public from tampering. hencethe warnings.

What they mean is at time of purchase if seal is broken as someone could have tampered with the product ie put ground glass or rat poison in it if its a jar of food or a powdered product like flour or cereal etc

Have you tried osmosis? No really, wild seals are nothing to mess with. One minute they're eating fish out of your hand, the next you don't have a hand! Besides don't you think that it is very unprofessional of those companies putting live seals on their products? Training of wild seals should be left to the professionals.

That label means that you're not meant to use the product if you're about to use it, and you realize that the seal is broken. For example, you might go to the supermarket and buy a carton of milk. You get home and when you're about to pour a glass of fresh milk, and you realize that the seal is already broken, then that's when you're not meant to drink the milk....

yeah!! A direct way of interpreting the meaning of it....
So I guess it should read like this "do not buy if you don't want the seal to be broken"
