it depends on the person.
i've given my email address to 3 of them, a pic of myself to 1 of them, and told all 4 of them my name, age and roughly where i live. nothing more than that.
but i've been talking to them for quite a while now so i trust them.

That is totally up to you and how you feel about the person that your speaking to. I have never given my telephone number to anyone of answers but I do use my real name and I have given out my email address to a few people to help them and talk on a more personal level.
Just be careful of how much info that you give out since there are many wonderful people on here there are some that are not so wonderful so be cautious.

No let's keep Yahoo Answers the same way as it is, without real names, phone numbers or addresses. Yes I do then convey things about myself which I might not tell people I know in the real world, and people's answers can be very helpful to me in finding out what people may really think about my faults but are too polite to tell me in the real world?
.
Also there are some who have fun at my expense, which I enjoy and some who are rude, which can also be helpful to me so I like that too. BUT if that happened to me in my real world I do not think i would enjoy it at all!

No. I would share enough general information to answer any honest question that did not violate the community guidelines. However, I've seen evidence of some shady characters on the open forum. It would be foolish to reveal so much without knowing to whom I am speaking.

Name, yes. Phone number, maybe. Twenty years ago, I would have posted a photo; but, now, I even avoid being in a family picture at Thanksgiving or Christmas!

Name = yes, prob not second name tho depending on situation.
D.O.B = no
E-mail = yes, depending on situation
Location = only very brief details, i.e. Glasgow, London, Leeds etc.
Tel no = no!
Picture = yes, but careful when, and also I'd say depending on who you are talking to (and the age you are - i.e. I am an adult but I'd tell me young cousins not to).
Any other details i.e. bank/N.I number/SSN - NO WAYYYYYY!!!
In other words, I would be very vague on details on purpose until you know someone better, and even then how well can you know someone on the net unless you have met them?

Email, real first name, that's it. unless i can see them on web cam first. but i am a grouchy, hard as nails, scouser with a short fuse and bad attitude.
My advice to anyone who is isn't able to give me a good kicking is, Tell no-one on here anything, Keep all your details yo yourself until you are SURE!!!!!! who you are talking to.
To all you kids out there, i know you think you know everything, your invincible and street wise, convince yourself of this there are people on here that do want to hurt you, don't let them get close, keep yourself safe, tell them nothing.!!!!!

Sometimes I think I have already revealed too much information about me. I like to remain anonymous, so no name, photo, tel. number or anything like that.

Only if I got to know them first and I trusted them. Because unfortunately one of the negatives of the internet is that there are so many people out there that can mess with your head and my head is already messed up enough!!
