because they are smart enough to make you think they are - then they can just have lots of fun and no-one expects anything of them. Be wary, very, very wary .....LOL !!

Personally I don't think that they are all dumb however a couple can give anyone a bad reputation. As for the longest time I use to die my hair blonde as they always said that blondes have more fun as well, well since everyone who knew me knows my true hair color it didn't go far. Until I decided to change my attitude.
But of course if the "blondes are dieing their hair as well" maybe the hair dieing stuff is what is killing their brain cells.
Not to mention two of the smartest women I know are both natural blondes.
Plus I have known some pretty dumb red heads and brunettes, just that they jokes about the blondes have been around forever. Kind of like the redneck jokes.

This one's easy
Let's think about it for a minute, how in scientific terms can having blonde hair actually make your brain function any less/more dumb than girls with different coloured hair?
Answer, it doesn't, it's all down to other peoples perceptions. And speaking as an 'intelligent' blonde with lots of qualifications and professional certificates being blonde is sometimes a great release/alter ego from being brainy. I like playing on the dumb blonde stereotype sometimes and it gets me what I want and helps me in lots of different situations
Blonde is just a hair colour...........................
The reason that other people consider them dumb is because the media have portrayed them this way for many years, and because the blonde bimbo character has been around in TV & film for ages and therefore it's ingrained into people's minds.

I think it just happened to be the unfortunate color that self-absorbed, (but not necessarily unintelligent,) girls started dying their hair in order to look more attractive. People who put a lot of effort into their looks are generally considered to be more focused on popularity than studying, so the stereotype easily follows. When someone talks about a "dumb blonde," they are rarely thinking of someone who is naturally blonde.
It could also be that because blondes are often considered the most attractive in our culture, it would give them too many advantages to also be considered intelligent. Maybe men would be intimidated by a woman who is both attractive and smart, so the stereotype began as a defense mechanism.

Um dumb blondes... I don't know... research? Some ppl just think that blondes are just stupid cuz of the jokes, but once they see a really smart blonde, they forget about dumb blondes then remember them again after!

Good question, but I'm blond and neither stupid or self absorbed! I think some blondes LIKE to have people think they are stupid because they think it's cute seeming dumb and helpless.

i blame the media for that.
as u can see on TV, whoever comes out in Hollywood with dark hair does not drag attention until she dyes her hair blonde.
they consider blondes so dumb, but they love them. so i think we shouldn't wonder why they're considered dumb more than wondering that if they're considered dumb, why r they more successful !!!
