I have never judged by grammar and spelling. Anybody who knows you, knows you're not an idiot.
Did you know there are people from all over the world on here? Some aren't so great with the English grammar and spelling because it is not their natural language. It would be sad to judge them for that. Don't you think?
Did you also know that grammar and spelling don't make you smart or stupid? Sawman, there is nothing that could make me think you are an idiot.

Depending on what you are writing and the number and type of errors, poor grammar and spelling can be a sign of disrespect. For example, if you are writing a letter to me, it could be interpreted that you didn't feel I was worth the time to pick up a dictionary, ask a friend to proofread, or even hit spell check. I might very well take offense at this. This is especially so in the professional business word.

Depending on how bad your grammar is, and what your specific needs are, you might want to consider taking an adult school class or hiring a tutor to improve your skills.

I don't judge a questioner by their spelling or grammar. For all I know, English could be their second language.

Nuh! Lack of literacy skills is not synonymous with stupidity. Were an idiot to learn these differences, their IQ would not magically suddenly rise. It's not paradoxical to be a genius and have terrible grammar. The universe will not implode

As long as you are close, it's not too bad. The people that don't even try get on my nerves. Capitilzation and punctuation are more important to me than correct spelling - unless we are talking about that stupid Txt Speak crap. (You have a full keyboard - use it.) And when people use the wrong word completely - like there/their - etc. Transposing letters is no big deal.

The one's I really think are moronic are the ones that constantly post "My boyfriend is cheating on me, should I dump him?" or "Do you think I'm pretty?" or "What should I wear to _____?" Grow up.

Yes. If it's really bad I tend to think a person is ignorant. Just a few mistakes don't bother me though. I make plenty.
