Even with an on line affair you still will end up hurting someone....You will be giving yourself emotionally to someone else and not your spouse! It is still cheating and, not a good thing. Take that energy you will be spending on that and put it into your marriage.....

I had a on line affair, but it did not work out, the person that I met, was a nut job saying I'm not married, but was with 3 kids I just don't get it why lie.

The first time I heard of it was here.
But, from my recollection, it was only bringing misery and discord in the couple.
I don't think it is harmless, because it's hurtful as flirting while in the presence of your spouse. So, it is disrespectful and in my book a legitimate cause for a break up.

i don't get it. it seems to me that it would be so unfulfilling, empty. how could it be thrilling? chances are one or both would lie about everything anyways. and how could you fall for some one you can't hold or touch or kiss or make love to? i think on-line affairs are people who become friends and make themselves beleive of a love that doesn't exsist

Been there, done that.

Lasted 7 years, even moved across the country to live in the same city. It lasted 4 months and we split.

Good Luck.

If you are so intent on cheating on your spouse, why not make it a real affair? It's going to hurt her just the same. Cheating is cheating.
