If i know someone interesting!
Silence feeds on curuosity, sometimes when i just wanted to listen, people get intrigue...
Sometimes it depends on your mood, i'd open up a conversation with a total stranger sitting beside me on a park bence or just say hello to a beggar!
You'll never can't judge people, i wouldn't be surprise if a smart kid opens up with a good question and you go, "oh, i never thought of it that way?"

It depends...in real life, no, not so much, im a really shy person...but online, i find it a little easier to open up, so yes i do initiate conversations here sometimes. :)
