when the rocket crashed in new mexico? did they resend the ashes again ?? thanks

They're resending the ashes. Scotty's ashes were only meant to go on a sub-orbital "memorial trip" to space. Gene Roddenberry's ashes are still orbiting the Earth, though.

I think we all missed the point on that, it was only intended to go into space for a short time and it only carried about 5 grams of ashes. I was expecting them to travel to the stars on a million year voyage.

probably returned them to the family

I do not believe they were to stay in orbit - which, to me, would really defeat the purpose of the flight

and it was a portion of the ashes - not the full amount
