If both of you view each other as peers and not one more dominant than the other. For instance, I've had friends that I looked down upon, not neccessarily in a bad way but just in all honesty, in aspects of intelligence, physical strength, life experience, ect... I would not exchange with them in this way because I would not want to hurt their feelings or help them to develop an inferiority complex or anything, but if i feel that we are truly on the same level, sure why not?????
Its just a term of endearment.

I have pondered this question for an entire length of 12 seconds:
No, it's not ok!
It's demeaning and insulting no matter what spin you put on it there's nothing positive in being called a dipshit even when put in the most loving terms.

Of course it is, if you both know that you don't really mean harm. Just because swearing is "wrong" doesn't mean that you mean the worst of intentions by using them.
