82945 chipset has the GMA950 integrated graphics that support DirectX 9.0 3D hardware acceleration. 3D hardware acceleration includes texture mapping, rendering polygons and geometric calculations.
Graphics card requirement of Max Payne is just DirectX 8.0 and 32mb videoram.
GMA950 driver may not have been installed. To check, right click on desktop, Graphics properties should be one of the choices. Left click on it. Blue window of Intel Graphics Media Accelerator driver should pop out. If GMA window does not appear, graphics driver was not installed. Install it. It should be in the driver CD that came with your motherboard or PC.
