It could mean your drains needs cleaning or there is a slight leak from you sewerlines. Pour some drain cleaner in both your sinks and commode and see if that helps. Also check in basement (if you have one) or attic for mold.

Sometime rotten gases coming from underground sewages fill the house with bad smell and are difficult to locate. You may try flushing all concealed drains with drain cleaning chemicals and a lot of water.
