Want to print up to A3 on variety of materials from vellum to textured card stock 300g/m2 +. Text and graphic quality is very important but does not have to be photo quality. As its a start up business budget tight around £500 or $1000, cost per page and consumables cost should be a consideration as a there is a limit to the amount I can recoup from customers.
Straight through feed important to avoid curling. Not sure whether to use laser or inkjet.
Laser text quality, speed and water resistance appeals but not sure about the quality of graphics or ability to print on textured paper. Toner, drum and servicing costs are also a concern.
Inkjet image quality appears good but appears to be for photo images which I feel may be excessive also unsure about smudging and text and graphics quality. Consumable cost a concern but I am willing to consider constant ink system.
Considered solid ink but unsure of ink wastage when i turn off/on or leaving on standby to keep ink warm as may not use daily

I tried to answer this when you posted it a few mins ago, but by the time I had typed my long reply, the question had been deleted, so I don't think I will bother with a full answer this time.

Lasers will cause curl and don't suit textured stock.

Inkjet has absorbancy issues, so test with your stock and be consistant in the paper/card stock you use.

Have a sneak at your local copy shop that does wedding stationary and if necessary ask them what they use.

Wedding stationery tends to be printed on PROPER printers, NOT laser / inkjet.

NEITHER technology is suited to 300GSM paper really.

Highest I've seen a last be able to take was 230GSM, and even at that it couldn't do it all the time, also that was a £3000 printer, these days almost NONE can go above 225GSM, and VERY few have a true flat paper path.

As for inkjet you have issues again that they are not designed for this thickness of CARD; that level is NOT paper.
You have issues with the media absorbing ink, and NOT being watertight, slightest drop of water = BIG smudge.

You cannot really start printing wedding stationery on a domestic printer, they use proper printing presses.

How approximately working a contest on your section via your interior sight newspapers, or with interior sight secondary colleges/colleges and so directly to get all the locals to return up with a acceptance. That way you get unfastened PR interior the interior sight newspapers, college/college newsletters and so on the two asserting the contest interior the 1st place and then asserting the winner, in step with threat with a image of you handing the contest winner their prize (which does no longer could desire to be costly - how approximately an MP3 participant for a tenner?) and in case you get photographed with the prevailing call/emblem being held up too then it gets it in front of folk precise from the start. then while they start to be certain your business enterprise up and working they're going to already be acquainted with the emblem/call and so on and your business enterprise could have on the spot credibility. that's only an concept - adapt it at will!
