* about 7 giving me the day's headlines from news sources I subscribed to
* between 0 and 8 helpful emails, telling me some company shiped my order, or the library has the book I'm waiting for, or something like that
* about 5 that I actually want to read from friends or relatives

I would say I get approximately 10-20. Most of which are spam or useless mail. I don't do a whole lot of communicating thru my email though.
