At the end of the year, you're going to have all of those 1 loss teams - and biased, political polls combined with computers are going to determine who plays for the national championship. What a screwed up sport.

"If we have a disputed champion, so what" - WHAT'S THE USE IN PLAYING THE GAME THEN?
The regular season would still mean something!!! I'm not talking about a 64 team playoff here!

Half the teams in Div I-A cannot win the national championship. Under the BullCrapSystem, they are automatically out of it. And I'm talking about teams from C-USA or the MAC, MWC, etc. 9 times out of 10 when one of those teams are undefeated, they're not that great. But you never know, and everybody should at least have some chance every year at the title. The BCS is rewarding Ohio St - who has played NOBODY, while punishing teams that have played somebody. There are too many good teams anymore to not have a playoff. The talent is spread all over the country and it is really hard for anyone to go undefeated.

BullCrapSystem...BCS...Let's be honest the BCS doesn't care about what or who is right or wrong...it's politics and money...otherwise there would be an "and 1" game like Gateway offered to pay big $$ for a few years ago for a USC LSU matchup!!!

I think and hope after the current TV deal is up the BCS will become a 4 team play-off or the and 1 scenario.
I am 100% OK with 4 teams. that would allow the other Bowl games to stay relevent. anymore than 4 and you would start getting 2 loss teams and teams that dont win your conference. I am a firm beliver in if you are not good enough to win your conference how can you deserve a nat title shot?
also more than 4 teams would make the college football regular season less important much like the college basketball season is until mid january. if college football had a 16 team play-off like 1-AA has now. stanford beating usc would be less of a big deal. look at how many top ranked college bball teams get beat by unranked teams early in the season and no one cares a week later. right now in college football every game matters. if you have an off game and lose very few teams can lose 1 game and still get a title shot.
My BCS play-off
Keep all 5 BCS bowls
Let 5,6,7 &8 get BCS games as rewards for the season
1 plays 4 , 2 plays 3 and the winners play in the BCS Championship

It constantly amazes me that NCAA football which is a billion dollar industry doesn't have a playoff system. Last year we ended the season wondering if LSU would have beaten USC but we didn't get to see it. This year we may end up wondering if Ohio State, South Florida or Boston College, is as good as LSU, Cal or Oklahoma. We won't know for sure because the Conferences are not about to give up their guaranteed money they rake in during Bowl season. Until we as fans say we don't want to watch the 4th place Big Ten team play the MAC winner in the "Whatever" bowl on December 27th on ESPN we are going to be stuck with the same system that determines the winner in Figure Skating and the 10 meter springboard; namely judges (in this case Sports writers) taking into account who beat who, when did they beat em, etc. If the NCAA can have a playoff system for Women's Field Hockey (no offense intended to the women athletes) then we should have a playoff to decide this issue where it should be decided ---- ON THE FIELD!

Yes, I do hate the BSC. There are already talks about the top ten "giants" all having one loss at the end of the year....but what if little South Florida is undefeated? The talking heads are projecting that even with that distinction between them and all the rest, they still may not receive the bid to play in the title game. WTF?!...and that's fair on WHAT planet?
This system is designed to keep the smaller schools out of the spotlight because they might not gross enough money and viewers for the sponsors.
It's a crying shame. I think that if the school earns its spot, it should be able to play in the game that it deserves without being pushed out of the way by another team who is more popular or recognizable.

I thins the BSC is crap they've said all along they want the bowl games and i have the solution shorten the season by 1 game so all these big power houses and get rid of 1 of there cupcake games then use 7 of the the current 100 bowl games to have a 8 team playoff and then you would be adding only 1 game to there overall schedule.........
yes i know there isnt 100 bowl games it just seems that way

yes, the BCS is a farse! There can never be a good foolproof system to determine who is the best. But just watch the NCAA try to take over the schedule-making so that there wont be arguments about the cush schedules that some teams are playing so they can remain undefeated...It'll come eventually if the BCS is allowed to continue...

We need a 16-team playoff, especially this year when there most likely won't be a BCS team without a loss.

With USC at #10! WTF!? USC shoul be in the 20s if that! They beat Nebraska by a small amount compaired to the last two games when Nebraska got crushed. Then the Arizona and Washington games where they almost lost again. This is just a popularity contest.
BCS system does need to change. It's wrong!

I liked it before the BCS. There was conflict, but the polls were what they were. What I don't want is a playoff. College football is special because the regular season actually matters. I think we should go back to the polls, if we have a disputed champion so be it.

the bull crap system is still better than the process we used to have.
yes we of course MUST have a div. 1 playoff system, but all of the college a.d.'s seem to be against it.
