I know I should visit a branch but I don’t have time so I decided to send them a signed letter to close the account.

Does anyone know what should be included in the letter? How do I write it? (I’m not good at writing…)

Thanks :-]

Close the account and the account number.
Make sure if it is a checking account all checks and deposits have cleared. If it is a no fee account you could bring it to zero then wait for any charges you might have forgotten.
It is getting harder now with auto payments on utilities and bill payer set up to pay bills automatically. I would leave an amount say 200 just sit for 3 months before closing unless there is a bank charge.

You need to go to the bank and tell them that you want to close that account. Make sure that you don't have any outstanding checks that have not gone through.

the account cannot have a pending balance. You cannot have any checks to clear or overdrafts. You may not even be able to close it unless you are in person.

all you have to do is withdraw all you money and you are done! No letter is required, nothing needs to be said about closing the acct.
