I worked for "the labor board" as some call it, in my state. The first thing you need to do is to calmly tell your boss that you feel uncomfortable with their behavior. Then talk to the person over them if it does not change. Meanwhile, document everything and write down witnesses' names. (A court of law and a labor board will require dates, times, descriptions, and witnesses; i.e. mental and emotional abuse may have to be proven by medical records.) Also, start looking for another job. It is easier to find one while you have one, than it is when you don't. Less stressful too. (If you quit, you won't be entitled to unemployment benefits, however, if you are terminated, or released due to other than punitive measures, you should qualify for benefits. If this happens, apply immediately. Even if you find another job in a few days, your state may still issue you a check for the short time that you were unemployed.) Talk to the labor board in your state as well. Alot of the info that you are in need of will be on their website. If not, you should be able to go into a local office or call the board to get all the info and guidance you can on this. You can talk to a lawyer, but a good one will refer you back to the labor board. Others may give you that free one hour of legal counsel and tell you all they can file on your employer and what your rights are, but remember, although they can file a suit, it doesn't necessarliy mean you'll win. Then you have wasted your money; probably a ton of it; we all know they make ALOT of money for a reason!

You can take action. Whether you can win is a more difficult question. It has arisen in nursing homes where the patient wants a nurse of a certain race. The patient is not the employer and is not subject to civil rights laws, and there are laws about refusing care. Those cases are working through the courts now and I cannot predict the outcome.

first off you need to go to his boss someone higher than him if nothing is done then you need to move forward with the legal advice and all you would have to do is call a lawyer in your area most lawyers give a free consultation hope this helps and good luck

Just quit. Find yourself another job.

If everybody there does that, the turnover will significantly punish your boss.

If nobody else does it, well, it doesn't sound all that abusive.

You're probably mentally and emotionally abusing him with your work. If you hate your job so much, quit.
