Soon i will be taking some guitar lessons. My whole life i grew up on Rock/Metal and i've wanted to learn the guitar. I am actually a very big Yngwie Malmsteen fan and while i'm sure i may not be able to master the guitar like he has i would definitely love to play along those lines.

My question is...are there any specific electric guitars that would be ideal for a beginner like myself? are there only specific guitars that can get a specific sound?
I was looking at the Ibanez website and i saw some great guitars based on design alone.

My seoncd question: Somewhere down the line i know i'm going to want to customize my guitar as far as paint or maybe a decal of some sort...would anyone know where i can find this?

Ok for your very first guitar get a Fender Squire Stratocaster. It will be very good to you for earining electric guitar. I comes in a pacake with a wonderful 15 watt fender amp and picks and other assecories. You should buy more picks (to your liking) and a better strap which is about $17. This guitar package goes for around $250. It comes in blue, red, white or black and can be purchased at guitar center or online at guitar center or musicians's friend .com. Trust me this is what you need to start.

I agree with those who have already mentioned the Fender Squire series, either a Strat or a Tele.

the Squire would be more appropriate for you especially since you want to customize it.

Buying an American made Fender..for the better part of a grand, only to customize it, will literally make your investment worthless.

But the Squires? they play and sound great, and they will never appreciate that much in value as they are not made in the U.S.A., and therefore do not have collectors value.

Fender, Gibson, Mosrite, Gretsch, Rickenbacker just to name a few. Look at what the rock stars play.

Get a Squire (Fender)

They are simple, good electric guitars.

I only got an acoustic, but I'm getting an electric for Christmas.

seek for a schecter...they're o.k. equipped guitars. astounding fee for the money. you isn't dissapointed. I own numerous as well as some extreme priced Over $one thousand guitars (Gibson Les Paul,Fender American Strat). i like the Schecter, more desirable. you'll get them contained in the US contained in the $three hundred and up variety. attempt to be able to discover them contained in the united kingdom. bypass to their information superhighway website and search for uk sellers.
