i dont believe that it just catholic, there are some women/and
men that feel that they have to stay in the marrage because
it what has been taught in there lifes ,sometime you learn from
others that this is the meaning of love. i truly agree with with
you that life is to short for drama. if the person does not give
you what you want and need. time to get out.

Reality is what we are taught by Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, "Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate." (Mark 10:9)

Because of this, the Catholic Church believes that God does not recognize civil divorces.

However there may be hope of a declaration of nullity.

The term "annulment" is a misnomer because the Church does not undo or erase a marriage bond.

Rather the Church issues a declaration of nullity when it discovers that the parties were not truly joined by God and hence a full spiritual sacramental marriage as understood by the Church was not present.

Then the parties are free to marry for the first time.

With love in Christ.

Any good Catholic today will tell you that if you are being abused, or if your husband is unfaithful to you, you can not only get divorced, but the church will give you an annulment so you can marry again in the church.

I'm a former DV counselor...all my victims said those things most weren't even Catholic.

And all Christian churches frown on divorce...why are you picking on the Catholics? You have some anger issues going on yourself.

catholic doctrines states that if you are married in the eyes of God, no one should come between them. i am catholic but i dont conform to those people who stay even when they are abused. if there is no love and respect at all, then its about time to end it. that is why you have to choose carefully the one you are going to get married to coz if youre a catholic, it will make you feel guilty if you break the marriage off. but then again, as human beings we have the capacity to stand up for our beliefs and uphold our dignity. so its up to us. i just hope that everyone that goes into marriage should think first before jumping on the wagon. this goes true not only for catholics. everyone should uphold the sanctity of marriage. if you are not ready, then dont do it. youll regret it later on.

Just let them be however they want to be. Although it may not be the way you think things should be doesn't mean they cant do whatever they want especially if they are adults lol. I personally do think its kind of weird though and the whole birth control thing too. But hey I'm catholic too and I believe in divorce although I think its a stupid thing to do.

Not sure what the question is, but Catholic's can get divorced. There is an process that they go through the church, to have it approved.

Why do u let some guy beat the crap out of you.... one day he'll l beat you till your DEAD!

NO That's not the problem. The problem is ppl get married to young and too quick now. They don't take marriage serious. Believe me if I didn't believe in divorce I would be 100% sure I wanted to spend my life and he wanted to spend his life with me. There is nothing wrong with not believing in divorce just ppl using marriage like a dating service thats the problem. If my marriage failed (and nothing could fix it) I would consider divorce.

I say if you don't believe in divorce then don't jump up and marry just because you think your in love give it time be sure. I mean you have your whole life ahead of you.

The Catholic church will grant annulments for infidelity and abuse. That is reality. They just dont believe in divorce for "irreconsilble differences."

Is there a question in this somewhere?
Plus I don't think that this only applies to the Catholic religion.
