People read what they wish to read and dont really take in what is actually typed.
Other people are on here and want to have an outlet for their thoughts so if you spark something in their mind with your question, you will get their off tangent answers.

They are doing this just to get points I see those answers all the time. Some of us do read the question and actually try to give an answer that will be of use to you. And there is sooo much WRONG with people I can't even begin to go over that but read questions on here for a few evenings and you will have a good idea.

Cause we don't have time! Everybody wants there answer to be one of the first ones. If we take time to read thoroughly our answer would be last! Most askers don't read all of the answers just browse the first 10 or so. I try to type a quick answer then go back and take a little time to look stuff up or explain stuff. I don't think everybody does that though! Yes I need to go to bed also it's 12:49 am here in Arkansas!

Trust me, I'm not making excuses b/c I hate this myself. But honestly I think we're subconciously training people to react immediately, think fast, give an instant answer, don't blink or you'll miss it ..... etc.
Think about how tv has changed our lives over the last several decades - and more over, think about how we've changed tv programs. Children watch cartoons these days that make me dizzy just trying to keep up. And it's true - everything seems to move so much faster nowadays.
So it's not that we don't have time anymore, most people just don't take it. They're concerned with quantity, not quality. Sad, isn't it? Now go to bed. ;)

I'm guilty of this, it's the same reason you answer the question in the first place. Also, my mind starts going in one direction and i skim the remaining question to confirm it... answer it and then realize I have missed that one key word that changes the entire meaning. (Then go back and remove or edit my answer) Another question along these lines, why do people get so angry when you shoot off a quick answer trying to help and you're wrong when you were genuinely mistaken.

They are more interested in what they get out of it(their 2Pt's) than following the community guidelines and actually attempting to help someone. Sucks, but thank goodness not everyone is like that. Or they are more interested in the feeling of importance derived from sharing their attention and the advice?. Yes, its happening alot. Many people are completely self-focused(narcissistic), mean and callous(Generalization, I know).

well, each question you answer gets you 2 points
i think ppl think to themselves
why bother reading the whole question and actually answering
when i can just answer by typing one . and getting two points
its just how the world is
cheap and mean but not alll ppl are like that
good ppl will help you hang in there
forgive those ppl their being immature
goodluck=]
