Yes. It happens to all of us I think. If it happened to you, just let it roll off your back...someone that stoops to such a low means of communication isn't worth the time or energy it takes to get upset.... :)

In an email I received a couple of days ago, someone from this site called me something I have NEVER been called! It was a very nasty surprise to open a message from someone and be called that. I really was distressed that this person would be allowed to do that! Maybe I should block my email if it happens again.

Otherwise, I don't recall if anyone has said anything derogatory besides calling me stupid. That was from a fellow worker who actually should have applied that word to herself. Everyone told me that after they heard what she said, so that made me feel better. I'm definitely not a stupid person, so I didn't fire back at her, which is probably what she would have preferred me to do.

I'm a supervisor in a factory! Derogatory is a polite way to refer to what I've been called!

Sure, but I usually walk away when it gets to that point. I follow a 5 minute fight rule. After that? It's over and done with.

Yes, many times, mainly behind my back. This is why I put my name tag on the back of my hat so they know who they are flipping off.

Yes. When people aren't winning an argument they like to go for offensive names. In my opinion it makes them look stupid.
